Rooted again and FREE

There are so many butt-faces that talk about rooting (to access system files you wouldn't normally have access to) as if it was a terrible terrible taboo. They run around bashing android because people void their warranties and why should they have to root it anyways, for $300 it should be and do whatever you want...blah blah blah. You know what i say to those plebeians? Go cry and diddle your iPhone. I have nothing against Apple or iPhone's, considering i owned a couple and still own some Apple products. They're great and operate efficiently but they just become some gruesomely boring and mundane. There's just screens with icons, well that was designed in 1985 and i like seeing widgets and resizing icons. Well you can do that on an iPhone too you just have to jailbreak it...gimmi a break it's the same as rooting the device! The iPhone OS just finally adapted a pull-down notification bar *cough* *cough* from Android and let me tell you, it's nice. I really just love my phone rooted and fresh because it runs the way i want it to and displays all i want. I have it semi-overclocked and while screen is off undervolted to conserve battery life. Got a full days use and i use it a ton!

It all started with my Nexus One, which was an amazing phone that illuminated Android in my eyes. It was amazing and wayyy ahead of it's time. I rooted and installed custom roms all day on that guy. had it overclocked and customized everything to the T. Rooted it on day 1 and it took me 6 hours. Eventually i sold it on Ebay after owning it for 2 years and replacing the screen twice for $300 smackers. Now tell me that isn't amazing?!?! It was the longest and best phone i ever owned, it was just time for an upgrade. So i downgraded to the Droid 2 Global, yes i know i said downgraded just gimmi a sec here, it was crap! Functioned as it should, but i noticed without root it was sluggish and just ugly. The Motorola skins were just so ugly and i absolutely had to sell it. I came across a cheap Blackberry Bold 9650 for the cost of replacing a screen and i snagged it. I wanted to try the new BB OS 6 and let me tell you IT SUCKED! lol, it functioned awesome and the OS was a huge improvement over what BB was sporting for a while but it couldn'd hold a candle to anything i'd used in the past, even the Droid 2 Global. Although i must admit if i had gotten the R2D2 version i might have kept it longer ;P. Onto my babe now. I have in my left pocket, which i am laying on squishing my HTC Thunderbolt. Out of the box it is fast and beautiful with a very large screen and very responsive to the touch. The camera takes amazing pictures and by golly it's just an awesome phone. Buttttt there is one gripe i have never gotten over, where's the GINGERBREAD?!?!? Shipping with Android 2.2 when everything was shipping with 2.3 was just annoying but i figured an update soon, boy was i wrong as hell. Nothing...nothing...nada. So i rooted. Well that's a lie because i rooted it as soon as i got it to see...lol yea it took a couple minutes. Returned it to stock because it ran fine and i like it. Well after waiting forever for GB release it never came, just like SANTA never did! I found some custom roms i like online and downloaded a bunch and then rooted to test each out. I found most sluggish in areas and eventually settled on CM7 which was a sort of bare-bones build. No real flashy stuff. Worked great, i loved it, yet again i was bored after some months so i searched some more. Sense 3.0 was no leaked and everything was running it but it was running it badly and unusale. Finally i found a Synergy build with GB sense 3.0 and it ran perfectly. No battery drain whatsoever and everything i wanted and needed. My hunt was over and my phone is still my phone.

I really just ranted all this because i want to encourage people to root their phones or jailbreak them. I want people to unlock them and do whatever they can to customize them and add what they want because mobile platforms are taking over and the more knowledge everyone has on them the faster it can grow. So many people reject the new and keep the old and it blows my mind. I just want to reach out and fiddle with all new technology, i wish i could be a tester for mobile phones. I would love that job because it would enable me to show people what they should look for and what they could buy to cater to their needs. Anyways i'm sick of writing. This blog is a year old and i deleted everything to start over because the content was just news i found and relocated here. I really just want to help people and establish some kind of community with Android users. So i have all my contact info on here and if anything just leave a comment. Or just be a butt-face either way i don't care.
